I am working on a project for school and have hit a dead end. I have to make a pair of ski and snowboard goggles on Solidworks. I have tried thirty different ways to do is but all of them havent come out right. Because the goggles curve in two different ways (with the face as well as vertically) It makes virtually no flat surfaces making it almost impossible to manipulate once I have completed the form. Also the frame shape is not consistent around the perimeter. So far the closest I have gotten is by:
1. Create a projected sketch of the outline of the lens with the right curves
2.Cut out of a Cube (didn't work at all)
I then have tried sweeping a sketch around the perimeter (made kinks)
Then I tried to Loft multiple Sketches (Will not loft into different shapes)
Any pointers or suggestions? I know SolidWorks pretty well but am hoping there is a feature or something I don't know about that will make this a lot easier.
Basically if you were to make this, how would you go about it?
