dxf/dwg export parameters

One of our processes is to create flat patterns and then create a dxf. Our cut center uses this with Gerber cut machines.
The problem is that no matter what we do to our flat patterns, the dxf will always end up with disjointed geometry, or that doesnt connect, or the tangency that is in our master file wont carry over to the dxf.
This happens in both symantic or graphic mode. Is there a tolerance variable someplace that can be tweaked?

Are you asking about formed parts? A picture of the part would help to see the problem.

(We do this all the time where I work with composites, and we don't have problems with our dxf files)
