Thick Surfaces in GSD and mass

Hi everyone,

I've been working with the generative surface design workbench (CATIA v5R19) and often I need to thicken a surface such as a cylinder to convert it into a mass. However, when I use the Thick Surface tool, the surface visibly thickens but seems to have no mass or volume. I checked the part's mass and volume by both looking at the properties of the part as well as by using the Measure Item tool.

Could you please tell me how I can inform CATIA that this thick surface is supposed to have mass and volume?

The Measure Item tool will give you the Volume of the ThickSurfaced shape, but no Mass.

The Measure Inertia tool will give the Volume and the Mass.

Don't forget to Apply Material to provide a material density used for calculating the Mass.
